People sometimes ask me where my inspiration comes from in general or for a particular piece.

That isn’t always easy to answer, and besides, I don’t always like to divulge that too early because it may interfere with the viewer’s enjoyment of interpreting the specific piece for themselves.

In general, I like to photograph things I see in the environment, whether natural or man-made, and perhaps incorporate an abstracted version of them into an idea for a piece.

The textures and patterns in these PAVING STONES near Kings Cross station caught my eye.

These ROCKS on the Northumberland coast have some interesting colours, textures and shapes.

This MARBLE TABLE has shapes that interest me.

And finally, this ‘SEA FOAM CRUST ‘left by a high tide on a beach in the Western Cape of South Africa, I found particularly intriguing.
